Vålerenga Fotball was one of two clubs from Norway that had teams playing during Invitational Cup 2016. They participated with one team in Boys 04.
In addition to Vålerenga Fotball, 19 other teams from 7 different countries played in Boys 04. They were divided into 4 different groups, whereof Vålerenga Fotball could be found in Group B together with FC København, FC Honka, Västerås IK and Hammarby IF FF. Vålerenga Fotball continued to Play-Off C after reaching 4:th place in Group B. In the playoff they made it to 13-14, but lost it against Harju JK with 0-4. In the Final, Harju JK won over IFK Göteborg and became the winner of Play-Off C in Boys 04. Vålerenga Fotball comes from Oslo which lies approximately 420 km from Djursholm, where Invitational Cup takes place.
