Västerås IK was one of 16 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Invitational Cup 2016. They participated with one team in Boys 04.
In addition to Västerås IK, 19 other teams from 7 different countries played in Boys 04. They were divided into 4 different groups, whereof Västerås IK could be found in Group B together with FC København, FC Honka, Vålerenga Fotball and Hammarby IF FF. Västerås IK continued to Play-Off B after reaching 3:rd place in Group B. In the playoff they made it to 9-10, but lost it against TPS Turku with 2-4. In the Final, TPS Turku won over FC Djursholm and became the winner of Play-Off B in Boys 04. Västerås IK also participated in Boys 04 during Invitational Cup 2015. They reached the final in Play-Off B, but lost it against Fortuna FF with 2-10 and ended up in second place.
